This is one of my favourite slices of all time, especially if you have slightly sour dried apricots. With the condensed milk, the slice stays soft and doesn't dry out. This is one the kids love to make as they can bury their little hands in the bowl and all its squishy crunchiness.
Step 1: The Base
Grease and line a 20cm x 30 cm slice tin.
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Press into the lined tin and refrigerate until firm.
Step 2: Icing
Sift icing sugar into a small heatproof bowl. Stir in butter, orange zest and enough juice to make a stiff paste. Stir icing in its bowl over hot water until it has a spreadable consistency. Evenly spread over the base and sprinkle with toasted coconut. Allow icing to cool before you hack into it!
